Our Curriculum

Twinkle Stars is currently undertaking the Curiosity Approach Accreditation

We feel passionately that nursery should be a home from home for children where they feel welcomed, safe, secure and loved.

We ensure that Twinkle is filled with exciting and magical experiences that encourage children to develop their natural curiosity and use their imagination. Our environment is filled with authentic resources that enables an eagerness to explore and create and allow children to be engaged in deeper levels of sustained thinking and problem solving. We use a wide range of loose parts, natural materials and the outdoors to create inspiring invitations to play.

All children are born with the innate skill of curiosity, that strong desire is there. We believe it is our role as Early Years Practitioners to nurture and inspire this.

On a day to day basis we observe your child’s learning and use our interactions with your child to decide on what activities and learning experiences we can provide to ensure they are meeting their next steps and are constantly being stimulated, excited and challenged in their every day learning.

We recognise the importance of ‘life skills’ within the setting and children being independent and children are involved in growing their own vegetables, washing their dinner plates, cleaning their own faces after dinner and helping us fold the washing.

Our ethos is completely play based and is led by the child.

EYFS

At Twinkle we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes From when your child is born we believe that their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure and support their developmental, care and learning needs.

The EYFS sets out all of the legal welfare requirements that settings must follow to keep your child safe and promote their welfare. It is split into 7 areas of learning;

Children should develop in the 3 Prime Areas first;

  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development
  • Communication & Language
  • Physical Development

These prime areas are most essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning.

As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas;

  • Understanding of the World
  • Mathematics
  • Literacy
  • Expressive Arts and Design

These 7 areas are used to plan your child’s learning and activities.

MORE ABOUT EYFS

Famly

We use an online nursery software system called Famly. Parents can have access to and can communicate with the Nursery through it. We can share pictures and videos to Parents and share important updates. Our current families really enjoy using this and feel it's a valuable resource during their children's time with Twinkle Twinkle Stars
